COMMERCIAL KITCHEN COOK
Arbutus Ridge Farms is a growing, dynamic and food-safety focused food manufacturing company. We’re currently looking for someone to contribute in our cook’s department, including cooking potatoes, pasta, rotating products through ovens, and all other kettle and oven-related products and ingredients.
The chosen candidate will have a history of consistency, quality, and efficiency. They will be able to deal with changing priorities as each day unfolds and orders arrive.
Strength is an asset, as you will need to be comfortable lifting 20kg+ throughout the day, into large 500kg capacity kettle equipment. If you have experience in kitchens, or banquets, or commercial kitchen experience, we would like to hear from you. This position reports to our Production Managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee recipe preparation, batch mixing and cooking process
- Ability to read and understand recipes
- Gather, weigh and measure raw materials for recipe production batches
- Responsible for all ingredients placed in kettle(s)
- Ability to utilize industrial skillets, kettles, machinery ie,RoboCoup, Immersion blenders, etc…
- Complete required documentation per batch produced
- Monitor expiry dates of raw materials
- Work in other areas of kitchen operation as/if scheduling requires
- Ability to maintain a clean work area
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of industrial kitchen procedures is an asset, including hotel kitchens
- Attention to detail
- Strong organizational capacity
- Capable of working in a team
- Adhere to company specifications
- Work well under pressure
- Trustworthy and dependable
